I need a break, but I'd rather have a breakthrough

THIS is why I take photos. 

I have an interest in people; what makes them laugh, what they like to do, and where they come from. Sure, fashion portraits with gorgeous models enhance my portfolio - but that’s not the general population. The rest of us have friendships, relationships, and even quirky personality traits that make us who we are; this is what I want to capture. God created all of us in his image, and He is beautiful. If our Creator (even if you don’t believe) is beautiful and we are his children… doesn’t that make us beautiful too? 

I’ve had photographers comment on my work saying, “They’re ugly, why did you take photos of them,”  and even remarks saying that they turn down work because the person is unattractive. Sadly, this is a the common reoccurrence with how photographers work these days. 

Yes, people come in all sizes and shapes but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful. The fact that people even consider me for hire, is an honour. My job as a photographer, isn’t to make you beautiful - it’s to capture you in your own beauty that is specifically unique to you. 

Everyone is beautiful to me, whether you’re short and a little rounded or tall with braces. You are, who you are: you’re beautiful and there’s no changing that. 

This is why I take photographs, and I’m just a girl with a camera who tries her best to capture the world around her.
