3 years ago, I did Lent during Grade 12 with one of my internet friends. To say at the very least, it was a life changing experience. At the same time, he (my ex) was also going through a spiritual transformation that changed his life as well. A lot of people do not understand and think I’m some sort of crazy person but I prayed 5 years for this exact person without even meeting him. Things like this don’t happen very often and one day we WILL be married. If you don’t want to believe me, then don’t expect an invite. Anyways, it’s that time of year to get my priorities right, to focus on the life I’ve been given, and how I’m spending it.
I’m actually going to do Lent properly this year, with motives that aren’t centered around me losing weight.
- Spending 15 minutes in devotions, every day for the 40 days (hopefully it sticks longer)
- No more gossiping, it hard to actually hard for me to notice that I am doing it but it needs to stop.
- No more negativity, everyday is a 2nd chance to change something - I’m going to try to use it wisely.
- I lose my job in May, so no more buying anything I don’t need. Unless it’s tea ;]
- To be forgiving. To be honest, I sometimes really hate some people but that needs to change.
